Shedrack Muli-Artist name Pinto
I grew up in Ruben slums joined Ruben centre for my primary school. My passion as an artist started since I was 11 years old where I started working on beadwork. The beadwork earning supported my small expenditure and my family including paying rent. While in class eight I started designing lampshades using calabash, there was better earnings on this venture.
When I joined high school, my passion grew stronger and I started drawing, designing and looking for support to be a professional artist. I could not afford college fees so I embraced my art work full time. I went back to Ruben centre where I design men and ladies both sandels and closed shoes. It has been 10 years of continuous work in my art work all this time has been made possible through Ruben centre. I am a beneficially of Ruben centre since primary school, they have made me the person I am today. My art products are displayed in Ruben centre shop where I earn my living after they are sold out to customers. My vision is to see my professionalism go to the next level where I can establish my own shop and sell my wares directly to customers and become self-reliant. I would also like to contribute to the community by opening an artwork school for the children in Ruben centre so that they can benefit like myself.
